You just promoted a strong individual contributor into a supervisor role, and they’re figuring it out on their own. Your mid-level managers are ready for the next layer of leadership skill. Your senior leadership team is operating well as individuals but not always as a team.
We help Northeast Ohio employers (and organizations across the country) build the supervisors, managers, and leaders their teams actually need. Live and customized to your organization’s challenges. Delivered onsite, virtually, or on demand.
Emerging Leaders
Regardless of their tenure with your organization, you’ve spent considerable time and resources on the recruitment and development of your employees. Now let ERC’s professional instructors help them transition easily into your work environment. This series will identify professional etiquette in and out of the workplace, tactics for dealing with various generations and personalities, how to communicate professionally, and more.
Learn MoreSupervisors
Research shows that over half of new managers and supervisors receive little or zero training before assuming their new roles. As a result, these individuals must face new conflicts and challenges head-on and without any preparation. Through our popular Supervisory Training, your supervisors will gain a better understanding of their roles and learn how to become more effective supervisors.
Learn MoreMiddle Management
Middle managers are the linchpin in today’s collaborative work environment. These individuals must manage up and down, think strategically, and solve problems across departmental or divisional lines. This training addresses key issues that managers face and helps them learn the necessary skills for leading, thinking critically, coaching direct reports, understanding emotional intelligence, and recognizing the signs that will help retain and engage talent.
Learn MoreSenior Leaders
Our senior leadership team training series helps participants discover what it takes to achieve the ultimate competitive advantage of teamwork. This program is for all senior leadership teams or any in-tact team that needs to improve their ability to work together.

Why Employers Choose ERC for Leadership Training
Practitioner-led trainers. Our instructors are practitioners who have actually managed teams, run departments, and led organizations. They have sat in the seat your supervisors are sitting in now. That experience shows up in how they teach.
Built around your organization, not pulled from a catalog. Every onsite training gets tailored to your culture, your industry, and the real challenges your supervisors are facing.
Rooted in Northeast Ohio, accessible nationwide. ERC's NorthCoast 99 program measures the region's best places to work. We know what works in Northeast Ohio workplaces and beyond because we measure it every year.
Capability transfer. Our work with you is done when your team can run independently, not when the workshop ends. That shows up in everything from how the curriculum is built to coaching programs after a program finishes.

Leadership training for every level of your team

First-Time Supervisors
More than half of new supervisors and managers receive little or no training before stepping into the role. We close that gap. Through our training, your newly promoted supervisors gain a clear understanding of the role and the skills to lead with confidence.

Emerging Leaders
For high-potential individual contributors before they manage anyone. Helps employees transition into a workplace environment, develop professional etiquette, communicate across generations and personalities, and build the foundation that makes them ready for a future supervisory role.

Managers
Mid-level managers manage up and down, think strategically, and solve problems across departments. Our manager training builds the skills mid-level managers need most: leading other leaders, coaching direct reports, navigating change, retaining top talent, and more.

Senior Leaders
For executive teams that need to operate as a true team, not a group of individual contributors. Our senior leadership program helps in-tact teams strengthen how they work together, make decisions, and align on what matters most.
Training Topics and Skills
Our programs are built around the skills today’s leaders need most. From managing performance and giving feedback to navigating change and building trust, we offer relevant, actionable training for every stage of a leader’s journey. Loop Learning™ Model
Our Loop Learning™ Model makes training stick by helping participants understand themselves, learn practical skills, practice in realistic situations, and then apply it on the job. Our approach leads to real behavior change, not just a good training session.

1
Assess: Participants learn their unique style, strengths, and areas for improvement.
2
Learn: Participants gain behaviors, skills, and tools that can be applied in real workplace situations.
3
Practice: Participants apply new skills through realistic scenarios, role-playing, and peer discussions.
4
Apply: Participants apply what they’ve learned on the job.
Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on the program. Single-topic courses run a few hours. Our supervisor and manager training series typically run as multi-session programs across several weeks.
We also offer shorter sessions (45, 60, 90-minute sessions) to accommodate schedules of busy managers and supervisors.
Custom onsite engagements can be a single half-day workshop, a multi-day intensive, or a year-long curriculum delivered in cohorts. Tell us what you’re trying to accomplish and we’ll recommend a structure.
Supervisor training focuses on the transition into a leadership role for the first time: leading former peers, having direct conversations about performance, building basic accountability.
Manager training assumes those foundations exist and focuses on leading other leaders, working across departments, navigating organizational change, and operating at a more strategic level.
Most organizations need both, sequenced to where each person is in their leadership journey.
Yes. Our onsite engagements are built around your organization. We work with manufacturers, healthcare systems, non-profits, professional services firms, and others, and we adjust scenarios, examples, and language to fit your environment. Tell us about your industry and your team when you reach out.
Either works. Our virtual open-enrollment courses are designed for individuals or small groups (typically 5 or fewer). If you only have one or two people to develop, virtual is usually the right fit.
