Laurie White

Instructional Designer

As ERC’s Instructional Designer, Laurie brings more than 10 years of e-learning and training experience to our organization. Laurie specializes in crafting memorable learning experiences from challenging and highly technical subject matter. She has created e-learning modules for a variety of industries, including engineering, manufacturing, education, and biomedical research.

In her role, Laurie is responsible for redesigning and refreshing ERC’s existing suite of instructor-led courses with regard to content and design, with the goal of ensuring high-quality, relevant content for all training participants. By partnering with subject matter experts, trainers, and leaders, Laurie identifies learning needs and produces appropriate scenarios, discussion points, and activities. To measure learning outcomes, Laurie creates and implements assessments and evaluations. She also maintains an ongoing evaluation plan for the course methodology.

Prior to ERC, Laurie worked at THORS eLearning Solutions, an organization that creates visually engaging online courses for the manufacturing industry. At THORS, she produced custom learning modules on proprietary topics and core engineering subjects to manufacturing clients and THORS e-learning subscribers.

Laurie received her master’s degree in creative writing from the University of Montana, and she earned her bachelor’s in English literature from Elmira College. Outside of work, Laurie and her family like to explore the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, camp the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania, and relax on Ontario’s Pelee Island.
