Tara Motheral is an HR Advisor at ERC who shares responsibility for co-managing the HR Help Desk. In that role, she provides members with professional guidance on all things HR. Tara’s focus is on supporting and educating organizations on federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, FLSA, ADA, and WARN. She monitors regulatory and legislative developments and trends affecting employers. Tara also provides guidance on managing general employment matters, such as recruiting and hiring, benefits, drug and substance abuse policies, and employee engagement and satisfaction.
Most recently, before joining ERC, Tara worked for the Office of the Ohio Attorney General, where she represented the Ohio Lottery Commission in administrative hearings. She also worked as an associate attorney at a regional law firm, where she handled civil litigation matters, including labor and employment issues.
Tara gained experience in recruiting and performance management while working for LexisNexis, where she was responsible for overseeing a team of nearly 12 employees and annually training 1,200 law students and faculty on how to conduct efficient and effective legal research.
Tara holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and French from Lake Forest College. She earned her law degree, with distinction, from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law.
