Lens Focus: The Lean In Collection

Lens Focus: The Lean In Collection

Ever notice how women in stock photos all look the same? Typically, these images fall into two groups: the meticulously manicured female in a spotless business suit…or something following ‘traditional’ gender roles (i.e. cooking & kids).

What you’ll find here are REAL women – leading real lives, working in real places, in realistic conditions. These images capture female leadership at its core, and they are challenging the perception of what real success looks like for women and girls.

To create this stunning collection, Getty Images – the world’s largest provider of stock photos, has partnered with LeanIn.org (a nonprofit group launched last year by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, also best-selling author of Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead).

This first-of-its-kind partnership for Getty Images has resulted in an impressive assortment of over 2,500 images – a collection that will continue to grow as Getty adds new images. And, according to The New York Times, 10% of the proceeds from the collection’s images sales will go to help aid the LeanIn.org mission.

Plus, with the release of the FREE embed feature on Getty Images, sharing these empowering images on social media, websites, and blogs is now easier than ever. Click here to learn more about Getty’s Embed Images initiative.
