Program Description

This Leadership series is a six week comprehensive course for leaders who lead other leaders and are looking to delve deeper into leadership topics, their own management style, and helpful strategies to better enhance their management skills. The series addresses key issues that leaders face. Participants will learn ways to enhance their skills for thinking critically, coaching, retaining and engaging top talent and understanding emotional intelligence.

Strategic Leadership Training

In this course, we’ll explore and learn the ways being a leader differs from being a manager. Making the transition from manager to strategic leader requires an adjustment to your standard way of thinking to one that is more critical and strategic. Research shows that higher emotional intelligence correlates with higher leadership effectiveness. This two-part course is formulated for participants to learn and improve their emotional intelligence as it relates to leadership. The first part of this course focuses on the self-awareness portion of emotional intelligence and how we manage ourselves. The second part of this course focuses on the awareness emotions play in working relationships.


In the first day of this two-part Emotional Intelligence session you will learn:



  • Defining emotional intelligence

  • Resilience and maintaining a positive attitude

  • What is the relationship between "EQ" and IQ

  • Emotionally intelligent behavior- a fresh standard for professionalism

  • Discover what research says about "keeping feelings out of the workplace"

Finance for the Non-Financial Professional

This training session will help participants understand what it takes for an organization to make money, in other words, business acumen. Business acumen connects financial literacy with business literacy and shows how decisions impact financial and operations results. This is a critical leadership competency for managers and directly ties to job performance and business success.

Developmental Coaching

Description

Managers frequently fall short of success due to a lack of coaching in their management style. By incorporating coaching, managers are able to move past the basics of delegation and directing to become a manager who empowers employees to maximize their potential. In this full-day session, attendees will learn the basics of developmental coaching and how to apply the learning points and techniques in their style and with their team.


Key Learning Points:



  • Defining employee zones

  • Appraising employees relative to will and skill

  • Identifying strengths, passions and weaknesses

  • Planning and implementing successful coaching sessions

  • Performance coaching versus developmental coaching (when to apply each)

  • Recognizing and acting on opportunities to reinforce the development plans of direct reports

  • Creating Individual Development Plans (IDP's) that incorporate strength-based models appropriately and effectively
