Appropriate Workplace Behavior in the Age of the #MeToo Movement

Sexual harassment remains a problem in today’s workplace. Because of the #MeToo movement, an unprecedented number of women and men are reporting inappropriate behavior in the workplace. While nothing has changed in the legal requirements that employers must protect employees from sexual harassment, the #MeToo movement has created a new awareness of past practices that formerly were tolerated and/or silenced.

This workshop has been designed for men and women in the workplace. The focus is on how workplaces have changed since #MeToo and what every employee needs to understand regarding appropriate workplace behavior.

Learning Outcomes
As a result of attending this program, all employees will:
• Understand what encompasses sexual harassment from objectification to exclusion to sexual coercion.
• Identify appropriate workplace conversations and actions. Recognize when these may cross-the-line of appropriateness, specifically addressing humor, compliments, and touching.
• Recognize when and how to report an incident.
• Develop skills to proactively stop any behavior from becoming inappropriate in the workplace.

Who Should Attend:
Anyone wanting to understand the impact of the #MeToo movement on workplace interactions regardless of gender. Men and Women from the same organization are encouraged to attend together.
