The Fundamentals track includes the first six modules of the series, which focus on the role of the supervisor, communication skills, conflict resolution, performance management, employment law, and employee engagement and retention. Course lectures are delivered in a practical, “real world” format by facilitators who are experienced with supervision.
During these comprehensive courses, participants will gain fresh insights into their roles via self-assessments, group discussion, and opportunities for practice, and will also receive job aids and resources to apply the skills and implement the best practices they learn. To accentuate the hands-on learning experience, they will journey through the yourERC Learning Portal.
The Advanced Track includes the final four courses of the Supervisory Series Development Path. Supervisors who complete the Fundamentals Track receive their Supervisory Proficiency Certificate, and those who complete Fundamentals and Advanced Tracks receive their Supervisory Mastery Certificate.

Make-Up Class & Refund Policies:
One (1) make-up class is allowed per participant for Series registrants only. To schedule a make-up class, participants must contact learning@yourERC.com for additional date options. The make-up class must be completed within six (6) months of the missed date. No refunds are issued for any guest who misses a training class.

In this virtual, instructor-led training, participants will take Wiley's DiSC assessment to become more aware of their own and others' communication styles and preferences. They will also learn and discuss the following topics:
- Meaningful communication as a supervisor
- Importance of building relationships and rapport with others
- Influences of body language and tone of voice on verbal communication
- Active listening skills
- Social style awareness and how to adapt to others’ styles for more effective communication
Since supervisors and managers are responsible for whatever happens within their teams, they spend a considerable amount of time handling, preventing, and minimizing conflicts. In this virtual, instructor-led training, participants will learn and discuss the following topics:
- Definitions of conflict, benefits, and consequences
- Costs and causes of conflict
- Conflict management styles
- Strategies to manage and more positively resolve conflict
- Practical tools for dealing with challenging people, challenging situations, and dysfunctional conflict
Managing Employee Performance
Managing and documenting an employee’s performance is an essential function of a supervisor’s role. This ongoing process begins as soon as a supervisor or manager has started working with the employee to establish goals. In this virtual, instructor-led training, participants will learn and discuss the following topics:
- The Performance Management Cycle and Partnership
- SMART goals for effective performance evaluation
- Effective and meaningful feedback practices
- SIMPLE system for documenting and tracking performance
- Strategies for delivering an evaluation
