Supervisory Training Series I Certification: Boot Camp combines and condenses our five-part Supervisory Training Series I Certification into 2-1/2 consecutive days of power learning. In this training series, attendees will gain fresh insights into their role as a supervisor through experiential learning. We'll discuss coaching, conflict resolution, performance management, and more.

Participants will also have access to a variety of job aids and resources to help them implement their new competencies in the workplace.

This training series is from 9 AM to 4 PM on Wednesday, March 11 and Thursday March 12, and 9 AM to 12 PM on Friday, March 13.

Day 2 - 3/12/20

Conflict Management

  • Costs and causes of conflict
  • Conflict management styles
  • Strategies to manage and more positively resolve conflict
  • Practical tools for dealing with challenging people, challenging situations, and dysfunctional conflict

Managing Employee Performance

  • The Performance Management Cycle and Partnership
  • SMART goals for effective performance evaluation
  • Effective and meaningful feedback practices
  • SIMPLE system for documenting and tracking performance
  • Strategies for delivering an evaluation

Day 3 - 3/13/20 (Half day)

Employment Law

The final session of the series is taught by an employment law attorney who discusses employment law, including:

  • Overview of the legal landscape
  • Workplace discrimination and harassment
  • Employee leaves of absence
  • Employee performance issues
