Program Description

Supervisory Series: Advanced Track (formerly Supervisory Series II) 
In this four-module, comprehensive series, participants will gain fresh insights into their role as supervisor and learn the most effective leadership behaviors via self-assessments, group discussion, and opportunities for practice.
The series includes a focus on their ability to plan and manage the work, lead and manage change, lead and manage teams, and hold others accountable.
Participants will receive job aids and resources to apply the skills and implement the best practices they learn. They will also journey through the yourERC Learning Portal to accentuate the hands-on learning experience.  
ERC’s Supervisory Series Development Path includes the 10 most critical skills for supervisors.
The Fundamentals Track is the first six courses (click here for description). The Advanced Track is the final four courses.

Supervisors who complete the Advanced Track receive their Supervisory Proficiency Certificate. 
Supervisors who complete Fundamentals and Advanced Tracks receive their Supervisory Mastery Certificate.

Planning & Managing the Work


The first session of the series focuses on how to plan and manage the work as a supervisor. This includes gaining perspective on:

  • Identifying your accountabilities
  • Setting priorities
  • Successful time management strategies
  • Effective delegation
  • Efficient meeting management

Leading and Managing Change


The second session of leading and managing change will cover:

  • Perceptions of change and their influence on success
  • Pathways to change
  • How to influence others
  • Change management roles and their responsibilities
  • How to lead the change process

Leading and Managing Teams


The third session will be how to lead and manage teams and the key learning points are:

  • Importance and power of teams and teamwork
  • Characteristics of effective teams
  • Stages of team development
  • Behaviors of an effective team leader
  • Consensus in team decision-making



The fourth and final module will cover the following key learning points on how to be accountable as a leader:

  • What Does It Mean to Take Ownership of Your Work?
  • Identify Signs of Not Being Responsible
  • How to Encourage Responsibility
  • What Does “Holding People Accountable” Mean?
  • Identify Personal and Mutual Accountability
  • Strategies for Holding People Accountable
