Olivia Hochschwender

Olivia Hochschwender assists employers by providing legal counsel and practical HR advice that enables employers to maintain positive, productive workplaces.

Olivia graduated with honors from the University of Akron School of Law in 2014. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Trinity University in political science and English. Right after law school, Olivia worked as a field attorney and Equal Employment Opportunity counselor at the Cleveland regional office of the National Labor Relations Board. Olivia now focuses solely on management-side labor and employment law.

Olivia’s core practice focuses on providing employers with proactive legal and HR advice and helping employers implement practices/processes designed to prevent litigation.

Her work includes:

Providing practical training to both supervisors and non-supervisors on a wide array of employment law-related topics (e.g., professionalism and harassment prevention; managing leaves of absence; managing a remote workforce; employment audits; and supervisory skills). Developing and implementing handbooks, policies, and procedures. Developing and conducting HR audits, including HR systems and legal audits.

Born and raised in West Akron, Olivia now resides there with her husband, son, and Italian water dog, Bogie. She’s also a competitive amateur golfer and was captain of the golf team at Trinity University. Olivia also caddied at an Akron country club for six years.

Olivia is heavily involved in her community. She currently serves as a board member for the First Tee of Greater Akron, the University of Akron HR Advisory Committee, and the Northern Ohio Golf Association.
