In her 18-year tenure with the American Greetings Corporation, Renita held leadership roles in information services, human resources, leadership development, talent acquisition, and diversity and inclusion.
Renita is a sought-after keynote speaker, panelist, and expert practitioner in the areas of leadership development, talent management, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, culture, and organizational development. She has worked with numerous organizations and universities to provide consultative services in her areas of expertise, resulting in her various appointments, honors, and community engagement activities.
As Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Renita aligned the execution of the multi-year diversity and inclusion strategy to enable one of American Greetings’ key values — “We care about People and treat them with Respect.” Under her leadership, the diversity and inclusion work evolved from merely a “people process” into an integrated strategy in support of talent development, succession planning, and performance management.
In her role as Director of Leadership Development, Renita has been the architect for all corporate-wide and functional lines of business leadership development programs as well as overseeing the corporate university, ImAGine U. Renita also serves as a key resource to the organization in the areas of talent management, organizational development, and change management.
As Director of Talent Acquisition, Renita has been responsible for the development and execution of the strategy to attract top talent for American Greetings. This responsibility included heading up employment marketing initiatives, branding campaigns, internal referral programs, and the development of employee engagement metrics and retention programs.
