Here is a breakdown of what winners did in 2014 when it came to their recruiting, training, and compensation best practices.

For training top talent, the majority of winners used behavioral change observation or performance reviews when it came to evaluating their training and development needs. Also, 78% of winners conducted a formal training needs assessment. 

NorthCoast 99 Career Advancement

When it came to best practices for targeting and recruiting top talent, more than 95% performed background and reference checks before hiring. Also, it’s important to note that 66% of all winners did not layoff any of their employees in 2014. 

NorthCoast 99 Talent Attraction and Retention

When it came to determining the salary of a new position for winning companies, 90% used the market base with ranges and grades. All while 63% provided a Total Compensation Statement, which outlined compensation and benefit information for employees.
